             Dr. James Strother
 
Dr. Strother was born in San Diego, but moved to the Midwest as a child.  He earned his bachelor’s and dental degree at Indiana University.  He also completed a Master’s degree in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor Michigan, and has advanced training in Dental Materials from UCSF in San Francisco.  He practiced dentistry in various locations for the U. S. Navy for 28 years.  His previous jobs included Okinawa, Japan he was on staff at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland, and he has been in charge of two Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) programs.  He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, International Association of Dental Research, and is Board Certified in Operative Dentistry. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
            Dr. Christina Winter
                                       
A San Diego native, Dr. Winter received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and her undergraduate degree in Molecular & Cellular Biology from UC Santa Cruz.  After dental school, she accepted a position at Lutheran Medical Center’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program. Here she gained advanced training and comprehensive experience in the latest techniques and technology covering all aspects of general dentistry, including prosthodontics, implants and more aesthetic aspects of restorative dentistry.
Dr. Winter is thrilled to be living her dream of practicing dentistry in her hometown.  Aside from dentistry, she enjoys Crossfit training, running, yoga, swimming, and traveling.
She is a current and active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association and the San Diego Dental County Dental Society. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
               Dr. Karen Lynch
  
Dr. Lynch was born in Chicago and raised in Minnesota. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree at Creighton University and her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree at the University of Minnesota Dental School. She served 21 ½ years as a Dentist in the United States Navy where she completed an Advanced Clinical Dentistry Program and practiced comprehensive dentistry in various Navy Dental Clinics here in San Diego and Florida as well as overseas in Yokosuka Japan, Okinawa Japan and Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory. Dr. Lynch is a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. When she is not practicing dentistry she enjoys spending time with her family, running, swimming, tennis scuba diving, and living in La Jolla.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
             Dr. Tony Opilka
 

Dr. Opilka has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years (including 12 years as a periodontist). He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology (board certified) and uses the latest techniques in periodontal plastic and dental implant surgery. For patients who may be a little apprehensive about surgical treatment, he offers oral sedation to make them feel at ease.

He earned his bachelor’s degree and dental degree from the University of Illinois. He completed his periodontics training at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, Maryland.

From 2006 to 2009, he served on staff at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School teaching residents in the periodontics specialty. He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, California Dental Association and San Diego County Dental Society.
